Meet Phil Amabile:
Phil Amabile
Our newest Trustee - Phil is a 32 year law enforcement
professional with extensive experience and training in all aspects
of the criminal justice profession including: policing, security,
investigations and social services.

Beginning as a non-sworn police service aide and police officer
for the City of Sunrise Florida Police department and retiring with
the position of District Chief of Police for the Broward County
Sheriff’s office.

His assignments have held included; road patrol officer, field
training officer, sergeant, lieutenant, commander, Chief of Police
for the City of Lauderdale Lakes, Chief of Security for the
Broward County Courthouse, and Commander of the Child
Protective Investigations Services (CPIS) Division.

A court certified expert in criminal investigations, he previously
was the supervisor of the Major Crimes, Child Abuse, Robbery
and Homicide Divisions and teaches police operational subjects
including; interviewing and interrogation, crime scene
investigation, report writing and child abuse investigation. Chief
Amabile is also a forensic hypnotist and has conducted numerous
hypnotic interviews to assist in resolving hit and run accidents,
homicides and missing person’s cases. He is often called upon to
perform training and demonstrations.

Upon retiring from the Sheriff’s office, Phil became the Director of
Operations for the Department of Children and Families (DCF)
overseeing all child physical, sexual and neglect abuse
allegations as well as elderly abuse allegations in Miami-Dade
and Monroe Counties.

In 2009 Phil along with his former Homicide partner, Richard
Scheff created their own investigative and consulting firm,
“Attorney’s Investigative Service” specializing in wrongful death,
trial and case review as well as corporate investigations
Phil has been an active member of ASIS chapter 104 and a
member of the Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet committee.

Besides staying active as a consultant and investigator, Phil is a
full time instructor at Everest University, teaching private &
homeland security, criminal investigations and security
management subject matter
