ASIS Chapter 104
Meet Gary Perlowin:
Gary began his career in the electronic security industry in 1986. His first
job in the industry was as a sales manager for the largest security
systems integrator in south Florida. With the foresight to see the benefits
for his clients, Gary became an expert on security system integration and
was out in front of the rest of the industry. After many hours working in
the field, as well as completing courses and independent study, Gary
became an expert in access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection
systems. Gary’s ability to “think outside the box” helped him to design
and install several high profile systems during this time; providing
solutions that exceeded his client’s expectations. As a testimony to his
hard work and knowledge, three of his client’s systems were
highlighted, in depth, in articles for Security Sales and SDM magazines.
In 1996, Gary ventured out and bought a small independent security
company with a partner. The two worked hard building the company over
the next three years. Their hard work paid off when they were made, and
accepted, an offer to sell the company to a major independent fire alarm
company looking to expand into the electronic security sector. After
selling the company, Gary remained with the new owner, Florida State
Fire & Security, for the next ten years where his expertise and dedication
to his clients helped build it into one of the largest independent security
companies in south Florida.
After his career with Florida State Fire & Security, Gary worked for a small
security company after which he retired from the security industry.
SimplexGrinnell contacted and lured Gary back to the industry. He is

Gary is a lifelong resident of south Florida. Born in Philadelphia, his

the ASIS International Seminar & Exhibits. Elected to the Board of
Directors for Chapter 104 from 2002 through 2004, Gary began as a
Trustee, then Treasurer, and finally chapter Vice-Chairman. During this
time, Gary was very active member of the Law Enforcement Appreciation
Banquet committee which saw great growth in attendance and exposure
each year and is now the chapter’s signature event.
